A 16-BORE PINFIRE CAM-ACTION UNDER-LEVER DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'COLETE PATENT', serial no. 2036,
Belgian, circa 1865, with 29 3/4in. damascus barrels marked in gold on the top-rib 'DAMAS ANGLAIS', moulded raised pin platforms to the standing breech, ivy-leaf engraved long top-tang, back-action borderline and ivy-leaf engraved isolated locks, walnut straight hand butt-stock chequered at the wrist (cracks, repairs and losses to wood alongside top-tang and below locks at head), engraved iron furniture, complex flat-fronted trigger-guard bow, radiused borderline and ivy-leaf engraved action with integral fore-end, concealed forward-facing under-lever terminating in a crescent shaped guard containing the under-lever release trigger, the action table signed 'M.N. COLETE, BREVETE', detachable hinge-pin operated via a flush-fitting side-lever and iron swivels.
